I'm in Beijing! FB stopped working once we left the airport and right now I'm on my cell phone. For the 13 hour flight from Chicago to Beijing I sat next to a woman originally from here but who now lives with her kids in DC who gave me pleanty of tips for the trip!.

We are about to have our first traditional dinner, though me and a co traveler did experiment with Chinese fast food without any English help. Gonna go nom down.

We're headed to the airport soon. I hardly slept last night because of adrenellin. It's alright, I have a 13 hour flight out of Chicago waiting for me that I can sleep through. Hopefully.

So tomorrow I leave! I'm spending the night at my parent's house at at 8am they're taking me to the Columbus Airport where I fly to Chicago where my CSCC group meets up with another school from Georgia and we then fly to Beijing.

I expect not to be able to facebook or twitter while I'm there so I'll try to update from here... unless this is blocked as well. ;P
I guess we'll find out tomorrow!

I don't expect to get s***-faced while I'm in China at all, but I found this interesting article about Chinese beers and drinking etiquette.

This snow beer sounds interesting... and I definitely don't want to drink American beer while I'm there. What's the fun in that?

My banking and phone are now international! Texts and things SHOULD work the same but we'll see once I get over there. Though I still think I won't be able to get onto Facebook or Twitter - I might be able to post things to them but not be able to read any responses or others pages.

If possible, I'm going to try to blog as much as possible. But don't be surprised if I don't post anything while I get to China. :P

It's less than a week 'til I leave for China! Tonight we all met over a nice dinner at Q2 Bistro up in Worthington. I've never been and was a little irritated at how far away the restaurant was (especially since there are probably two dozen Chinese restaurants closer and around my neighborhood) but the place turned out to be very nice. Classy but not expensive and an incredible amount of tofu dishes! It also reminded me that I want to take a photo of every meal I eat in China for a kinda food log.

Every year since I can remember, my dad and I go to the Home & Garden Show at the Celeste Center at the Fairgrounds. Companies showcase their home upkeep services/products and lawncare companies develop indoor gardens for the public to walk through.
